Privacy notice for the Steyning Windows website

This notice explains what happens to the details you give through this site, in plain terms.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we receive your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the rough number of windows or doors, and anything you write about the house. When you call 01903 948046, the call is routed to the installer and its number and time are logged. When you email [email protected], we receive your message and address.

Why, and on what basis

We use these details for one purpose: to pass your enquiry to a FENSA-registered installer so that it can contact you, survey and quote. The lawful basis is your request, which is a step you ask for before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering it.

Who sees it

Your enquiry is sent by email to one installer. The installer then becomes responsible for your details under its own privacy notice, which it will give you. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and we do not use them for marketing.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to a job, your details are deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.

If you go ahead with the work, the records of your enquiry and job are kept for 6 years after the job is finished, because they may be needed for tax, for the guarantee on your windows and for legal reasons. They are deleted after that.

What the website stores

The site has no analytics, advertising or social media code. The only thing it stores in your browser is your answer to the cookie question; the cookie page explains this. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs for security.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to have them deleted, by emailing [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
